Description:
What is a Bullboxer/Bulloxer? It is a very rare bred dog, a purebred Boxer outcrossed to a purebred Staffordshire Bull Terrier.
This hybrid is recognized by the American Canine Hybrid Club as the Bulloxer (ACHC). These pups are home raised with my pet fawn colored male with black mask, and my pet female American Staffordshire Bull Terrier Blue in color with white markings. Parent's are registered as purebred pedigrees with the, AKA American Kennel Club, ADBA The American Dog Breeders Association, the American Pit Bull Registry APRI, and the puppies registered with the ACHC.
The puppies come in three colors, black (sold), Male brown with black mask STILL AVAILABLE, and Blue with blue eyes which is now sold. Born 12/29/07; and are now ready to leave the mother. The pups have their 1st shots, deworming, and tails docked. History: The Bull Boxer, also spelled, Bullboxer and Bulloxer, originated in the 1990's in Great Britain by crossing the Boxer and the Staffordshire Bull Terrier or the American Pit Bull Terrier. Today there are variations of this cross using the Boxer and other Bull breeds. Some other known variations are the Boxer with the English Bulldog and Boxer with the American Bulldog. Temperament: The Bull Boxer is easy to obedience train. Breeders of the Bull Boxer say it has characteristics that make it in some ways superior to their parents, the Boxer and the Staffordshire Bull Terrier. While Boxers remain puppy-like and seldom outgrow puppy behavior until they are over three years of age, Bull Boxer puppies are said to mature earlier. Although many Staffordshire's are unreliable with small animals, and the pitbull's controversial aggression, the Bull Boxer is said to be less inclined to chase, or show any signs of aggression. It has also inherited the Staffordshire's sociable nature.
Breeding of the Bull Boxer continues in Great Britain, and is becoming more popular in the US. Height, Weight; Height: 16-27 inches (41-69 cm.) Weight: 37-75 pounds (17-32 kg.) Reduced Risk of Health Problems; Bull Boxer breeders say it is possible that this crossing reduces the Boxers predisposition to skin cancer and the Staffordshire's predisposition to heart disease. Living Conditions The Bull Boxer will do okay in an apartment if it is sufficiently exercised. They are fairly active indoors and do best with at least an average-sized yard. Exercise Bull Boxers need daily work or exercise, as well as a long brisk, daily walk. They also enjoy fetching a ball or other sessions of play.
Life Expectancy About 12-13 years. Grooming The close, smooth coat of the Bull Boxer is easy to groom. Occasionally comb and brush the coat to remove dead hairs. Bathe only when necessary, for it removes the natural oils from the skin. The ears should be checked regularly and kept clean.
The Bull Boxer can be a less than average shedder.
