Working Lurcher Breed Types
"Extremely
intelligent
and fast" I
have personally hunted with two
cracking lurchers from a beautiful
small town called Colne in the
north of England, both were deerhound
and greyhound crosses, these lurchers
were extremely intelligent, when
taken out of there kennel would
know where they were going and
knew exactly what they had to
do once we got there, the lurchers
names were Bess and Jock, cracking
looking dogs, both worked really
well together as team, Bess would
put in the long run on the hare
and Jock would without being directed
watch the way the hare was headed,
he would wait trembling with excitement
and checking out the area and
when he thought he had it timed
just right he would dash off jumping
gates, stone walls and ditches
to help his team mate Bess, just
extremely intelligent dogs.
